REN Qiushi

Professor of College of Future Technology, Joint Professor of the Institute for Global Health and Development

Research Field: Multi-modality Molecular Imaging; and Biomedical Optics and Laser Medicine

REN Qiushi, MOE Cheung-Kong Scholar Distinguished Professor, College of Future Technology, Joint Professor of the Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University. He is also Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, the convener of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, and the chief engineer of Shenzhen Precision Medical Imaging Facility. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1990, and served at Miami University and Shanghai Jiaotong University. He is a fellow of AIMBE - The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and a fellow of SPIE - international society for optics and photonics. His research fields include Multi-modality Molecular Imaging, Biomedical Optics, and Laser Medicine, with multimodal molecular imaging technology and artificial intelligence, aiming for early diagnosis and functional imaging of major diseases of tumor, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular, and nervous system. He has published more than 300 academic papers, obtained 2 US patents, 3 international authorized patents, and more than 100 domestic authorized patents. He received National Outstanding Young Scientist Award in January 2006, and the National Innovative Research Group Award in Molecular Imaging in 2015, both from National Natural Science Foundation of China.
