December 9, 2025, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration (CFLPA) and Peking University held an exchange forum at the Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development (GDH) focusing on international cooperation in the field of global health. A delegation led by Yu Yingfu, Vice Director of the CFLPA, attended the meeting, along with Jiang Guohua, Deputy Party Secretary of Peking University; Prof. Gordon G. Liu, Dean of the Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development, as well as their faculty and student representatives. Representatives in charge from relevant departments of Peking University, including the Department of Social Sciences, the Office of International Relations, and the Overseas Communication Office of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee, were also invited to participate.
During the forum, the participants centered on global health themes such as the Planetary Health Axis System (PHAS) developed by Peking University, and discussed how to better carry out international communication, cooperative projects and implementation paths through resource sharing and docking between the two parties. This exchange is not only an important measure for the two sides to deepen complementary resource and expand cooperation areas, but also builds an important platform for promoting the international communication of China's global health research.

In his speech, Prof. Jiang Guohua, Deputy Party Secretary of Peking University, stated that Peking University has always kept pace with the development of the People's Republic of China, upheld its century-old cultural heritage, and taken it as its mission to serve national strategies and human well-being. Peking University looks forward to deepening collaboration with the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration by depending on its extensive international communication networks and resource advantages to enable PHAS—an innovative achievement with both scientific rigor and public value—to better serve global sustainable development and contribute as a concrete step in implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Yu Yingfu, Vice Director of the CFLPA, elaborated on the institutional development history and core resource advantages of the CFLPA. As an important force in international communication that has grown alongside the People's Republic of China, the CFLPA has formed a comprehensive business system covering six major sectors: international communication of the important thoughts of the General Secretary, media communication, think tank research, publishing and distribution, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and industry services. Its subsidiary, China.org.cn, disseminates China's voices to the world in 14 languages, hosts more than 100 international exchange activities every year, has the capacity for translation and publishing in 44 languages, and a professional team composed of more than 60 foreign experts, boasting strong channel resources and practical experience in the field of international communication. The CFLPA clearly expressed its willingness to cooperate and will rely on its own international communication platforms, multilingual translation resources and global cooperation network to help PHAS step onto the international stage.

Porf. Gordon G. Liu, Dean of GHD, introduced the core value and development status of PHAS. Leveraging artificial intelligence technology, the system integrates four dimensions: human health, species health, ecological and environmental health, and social health, and includes more than 48,000 variables, realizing a panoramic depiction and systematic analysis of the global health status, and filling the gap of cross-domain integration that is difficult to break through with traditional research methods. PHAS has been released at important international events such as the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany and the Beijing Forum, and has attracted great attention from the chief editors of Science and The Lancet, as well as Chinese and foreign experts in planetary health, earth science, environmental science, artificial intelligence and other related fields. Han Qide, Honorary President of the China Association for Science and Technology and academician, commented: "The PHAS project provides a new governance framework and intelligent support for the sustainable development of human civilization, and is a major innovation with global influence." Prof. Gordon G. Liu said that the PHAS research team is currently writing a series of scientific papers based on the basic theories and partial applications of PHAS, and also particularly looks forward to making PHAS a global public scientific product contributing to human sustainable development through cooperation with the CFLPA.

At the forum, other participating experts actively put forward suggestions on the implementation paths of cooperation, and the two sides reached a lot of consensuses on the direction of cooperation. In terms of international communication, they will integrate the multilingual communication channels of the CFLPA with the academic resources of Peking University, and popularly interpret the scientific value of PHAS to global audiences through various forms such as special lectures, international conference exhibitions, and short video popular science. In terms of platform cooperation, they plan to host global health-themed forums relying on high-end international platforms such as relevant United Nations conferences, inviting experts and scholars from both sides to speak together. In terms of publishing and distribution, they will jointly promote the multilingual translation and global publication of relevant academic works and research results. In terms of talent exchange, they will build cooperation bridges such as expert mutual visits, internships and practical training to support the cultivation of international communication talents.
This forum has provided a good opportunity for the CFLPA and Peking University to explore the international communication of major scientific research themes. Taking the international promotion of PHAS as a starting point, the two sides will give play to their respective advantages in academic research, international communication, resource integration and other aspects, jointly disseminate and share China's scientific wisdom, and make positive contributions to boosting human sustainable development and global health governance.
