Director Bai Songtao introduced the unique resource advantages of Guangxi as a national healthy and long - lived region. There are currently 36 counties in Guangxi that have been rated as "Hometowns of Longevity". The rich longevity cases and high - quality ecological resources provide an ideal sample area for the research on healthy aging and the "Planetary Health Axis System" project. He hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and rely on Guangxi's rich ecological resources and longevity samples to jointly promote scientific and technological innovation and application transformation in the health field.

In terms of the application of smart medical care, Professor Liu Guoen proposed that relying on 5G technology and remote - controlled surgical robots, a demonstration center could be set up first in the remote areas of Guangxi to connect with top - tier hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai and other places, so as to achieve the "remote sinking" of high - quality medical resources. Director Bai Songtao highly recognized this and suggested that in combination with the construction of the Fangchenggang International Medical Open - up Pilot Zone, the medical interconnection with Vietnam and ASEAN countries should be expanded to enhance the regional international medical service capacity.

They proposed to create a "life - saving corridor", making Guangxi the top choice for medical services for residents of Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, enhancing its international medical competitiveness, and building a standardized and international medical service system. At the same time, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on the promotion plan along the "Belt and Road", and the construction of an international health cooperation platform relying on the China - ASEAN Expo and the China - ASEAN AI Innovation Center.

This symposium laid a good foundation for the practical cooperation between Peking University Institute of Global Health Development and the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi. The two sides will continue to deepen exchanges and jointly explore new models of regional health governance and international cooperation.
