National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development, and Peking University National School of Development convened the ninth Track II Dialogue on Healthcare in person at the Conrad Hotel in Tianjin, China on July 8 to July 10, 2025. The dialogue brought together American and Chinese experts from academia, think tanks, and industry for off-the-record discussions on healthcare issues pertaining to both countries. This was the first time in four years that the two teams had met in China due to the pandemic. The U.S.-China Forum on Aging and Dementia was held on July 10 to address the global challenge of dementia and promote U.S.-China academic exchanges and technical cooperation on disease prevention and treatment.
During the dialogue, the group discussed various issues, including regulatory harmonization on biomedical innovation; global health collaboration; dementia prevention, precision diagnosis, digital health innovations, and the development of clinical care systems. Participants emphasized that enhanced collaboration between China and the United States is essential to advancing global health. They expressed the expectation that both governments will engage in high-level cooperation. The dialogue concluded with a consensus document outlining key areas of discussion and joint recommendations for the two countries.
