LEI Xiaoyan

Professor, National School of Development and Institute for Global Health and Development

Research Field: Labor Economics, Health Economics, The Economics of Aging, Applied Econometrics

Dr. Lei Xiaoyan is a Professor of Economics, National School of Development and Institute for Global Health and Development at Peking University, also the MOE Youth Cheung-Kong Scholar and PKU Boya Young Fellow. She is currently the director of the Center for Healthy Aging and Development Studies at Peking University, deputy director of the MOE-PKU Center for Human Capital and National Policy Research, co-editor of China Economic Quarterly, co-editor of Journal of Economics of Aging, and a research fellow of IZA.

Her research spans the areas of labor economics, health economics, and economics of aging. Her research has been published in Review of Economics and Statistics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Human Resources, Health Economics, Economic Research Journal, and China Economic QuarterlyShe is currently the co-PI for the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) and has been an active member in the research team in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). She is also an active participant in the U.S.-China Track II Dialogue on Healthcare. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007.
