Xuezheng Qin is a professor of economics at Peking University (PKU), where he serves as the academic committee chair of School of Economics, head of department of economics, director of Research Center for Market Economy, and deputy dean of Institute for Global Health and Development. His research interests include health economics, labor economics, and applied econometrics. Professor Qin’s research is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Education of China, and International Development Research Center in Canada. He has published more than 80 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Labor Economics , Journal of Comparative Economics , Health Economics , Economic Development & Cultural Change , and China Economic Review . He is also the author of several books, including Economic Analysis of Mental Health in China , Intergenerational Human Capital Transmission and Its Impact on Economic Growth , and Applied Econometrics with Eviews and SAS Examples . Professor Qin serves as associate editor for China & World Economy , and guest editor / editorial board member for several academic journals. He was elected as the president of China Labor Economist Forum and a Distinguished Professor of Beijing Higher Education, and has gained other recognitions for his research, teaching and social services.
