SUN Yu

Assistant Researcher, Institute for Global Health and Development; Assistant Director, PKU China Center for Health Economic Research

Research Field: Health Economics, Global Health and Behavioral Science

Dr. Yu Sun is a assistant researcher of the Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development and the assistant director of PKU China Center for Health Economic Research. She obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Sun has utilized both quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate empirical gaps on research of health determinants, and health care policy evaluations. Her current studies focus on health disparities, socio-economic determinants of health, healthy aging, and health policy elations. She also takes part in various projects: such as “Health economic experiment for targeted poverty alleviation: An Interventional Study in Sichuan Liangshan” (funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China), and “Health and Economic Impacts of Consumption and Taxation Policy on Tobacco, Alcohol, and Sugar-Sweetened Beverages in China” (funded by the World Bank), and China Hospital Management Intervention Experiment Based on World Management Survey (funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China). Dr. Sun serves as a reviewer for journals of China Economic Review, Public Health Nutrition, and Informatics in Medicine Unlocked.
