XU Jing

Research Field: Health Communication, Global Communication and Public Diplomacy

Jing XU is Professor, School of Journalism and Communication and Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University. She received her Ph.D. at school of International Studies, Peking University. Since then She has been teaching at Peking University for over about 30 years. Her research focuses on health communication, global communication and public diplomacy. She has Involved in many national and international key research projects, including Pandemic Risk Communication (2010, China’s Ministry of Health), Public Survey for Risk Communication on Food Safety (2012, CFSA), Online Opinion Supervision on Food Safety for Risk Communication (2019, CMH), Risk Communication for Public Health Emergency Management (2020, PKU), International Communication for Global Health Community (2021,ADFL), Research & Database Construction of Human Healthy Community (2021, NSSF). She authored, co-authored, edited five books, and published dozens journal articles. She visited and lectured at Waseda University (1996-1997), Oxford University (2001-2002), the Royal Institute of Technology Sweden, HK Chinese University, Hong Kong City University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Università della Svizzera Italiana and others. She is the founder and project manager for the Europe-CHINA Dialogue in Media and Communication Studies Graduate Summer School (2014-2019), Chair for Beijing Forum 2020 sub-forum of Healthy China & Health Communication.
