ZENG Yi

Emeritus Professor, National School of Development and Institute for Global Health and Development

Research Field: Population healthy aging and elderly health service and policy; Health Services Planning; Family Dynamics and Life Courxe Study; Demographic, Economic and Sicial Changes

ZENG Yi, is an Emeritus Professor, National School of Development and Institute for Global Health and Development, Institute of Population Research, and Honorary Director of the Center for Healthy Aging and Development Studies, Peking University. He’s a professor, Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, School of Medicine, and Director, Center for Chinese Populations & Socioeconomic Studies, Duke University, and Distinguished Research Scholar, Max Planck Institute, and he’s Foreign member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.

He received his Ph.D. (Demography) from Suma Cum Laude, Free University of Brussels and had worked as Postdoctoral Researcher at Princeton University. His research interests include (1) Population healthy aging and elderly health service and policy; (2) New methods of family households & living arrangements forecasting and its applications in socioeconomic and health services planning and policy analysis; (3) Family dynamics & life course studies including marriage, divorce and cohabitation; (4) Demographic, economic and social changes and their policy implications in elderly health care needs/costs and socioeconomic development in China.
